With just one week to go before things get crazy, there's still a few loose ends to tie up. We've seen one season-long record go down, and we're on the brink of at least two more. Even if you don't get your name on the plaque, you can still hit the record books. Let's see who's in line...

By The Numbers: SupercalifragilisticespialaDONG!
By: Max Powers; Baseball Tri-Weekly

RUNS

The Doggs sit poised to knock Rio de Janeiro from their post, needing just 24 runs to break the recently set record. They've averaged over 42 runs per week for the first 20 weeks of the season, so barring a massive team-wide heart attack we'd say this record is as good as broke.

Current Record: Rio de Janeiro (2016) - 870
Expected Record: Las Vegas Doggs (2017) - 880

HOME RUNS

Team Shandypoo didn't feel like waiting around until the final week of the season to set the record straight. They sliced through the previous record in Week 19 and they're just adding to their total. Only question left is if they can put it far enough out of reach from future teams from claiming.

Current Record: Rio de janeiro (2016) - 268
Expected Record: Weymouth Shaddupu (2017) - 300

RBI

Weymouth isn't happy with just one new record, they want them all! They'll at least settle for two new ones. With just 14 RBI in the final week, Shaddupu is all but guaranteed to hold 3 of the 5 offensive season-long EHCC records by seasons' end.

Current Record: Rio de Janeiro (2016) - 845
Expected Record: Weymouth Shaddupu (2017) - 870

STRIKEOUTS

Ok, it's a long shot, but still possible. Quebec City needs a whopping 130 K's in Week 21 to break their own season-long K record. It's probably not happening, but a guy can dream.

Current Record: Quebec City (2008) - 845
Expected Record: Quebec City (2008) - 845

ERA

Another long shot belongs to Las Vegas, as they try to chip away at their season-long ERA to get below the 3.28 mark. They currently sit at 3.37 with just under 706 IP. If they can rack up 17+ IP without giving up An ER in the final week the record can be theirs. In Week 20 the Doggs started off their first 20 IP without giving up a single ER, so it's within their capability, and with basically nothing else to play for the Doggs could simply focus on that one task and set some history.

Current Record: Dublin (2013) - 3.28
Expected Record: Las Vegas (2017) - 3.27

WORST TEAM WINNING %

Can the Jets officially set themselves apart from all the rest of the terribly bad teams by announcing themselves as the officially worst team in EHCC history? They are 10 losses away from doing just that. Rakeville holds the key here - if they put aside their team desires for the 2nd best 2018 MaDP and 2018 MiDraft odds and put all their effort into helping San Fernando be the best [worst] it can be, we'll finally be able to say, without doubt, what we already know to be true.

Current Record: Arlington (2009) - .284
Expected Record: San Fernando (2017) - .283

Other notable match ups to watch:

Bridgewater vs San Juan

San Juan sits 4.5 games up on Bridgewater and Tokyo for the final playoff spot. Though Tokyo has the tie breaker over San Juan, Bridgewater has one over Tokyo. Neither of those will probably matter however, especially since San Juan and Bridgewater face off directly in the final week. A 7-3 win or better by Bridgewater catapults them over San Juan and, pending a the same or lesser victory for Tokyo, into the playoffs.

Quebec City vs Tokyo

The Piglets need a lot of help to regain the Western Division bye, and it's probably not going to happen this week. They're almost equally behind Tijuana for the top seed as they are above Santo Domingo for the 4th seed. With Weymouth and Tijuana expected to stay put in their respective 1 and 2 seed spots, Quebec City has some decisions to make. Tread water for a week and hold onto the 3 seed, setting themselves up for a battle with the yet to be determined 6th seed (SJ, BRW, TKO), or they could strategically tank and drop themselves down to the 4th seed, probably setting up a first round match up with Las Vegas, but ultimately taking themselves out of the Weymouth bracket. The Piglets also hold some cards regarding who that final playoff team could be. As Bridgewater and San Juan battle it out in their own match up, a strategic blow out loss by Quebec City could push the Robot army into the 6th seed, potentially setting up a rematch in Canada in the first round. (Ya, I know, this whole things is a reach to find something worth watching in the final week)

San Fernando vs Rakeville

A 10-0 win by the Rockets solidifies the Jets as the worst team in EHCC history, but ultimately also solidifies the Rockets with the 3rd pick int he 2018 MaDraft, rather than the 2nd. Who knows what to do?

Powers' Rankings: Week 21

It's just about over. A couple loose ends to tie up and we're off to the playoffs. 5 teams have their tickets booked already, with one seat still open. Only two match ups are really worth watching closely this week: San Juan vs Bridgewater and Rakeville vs San Fernando Valley (for completely different reasons). Click below for a closer breakdown of where all the teams stand after 20 weeks of battle.

Gus Peck Jr.'s Home Runs of the Week - Week 19

My Father, Gus Peck, is on vacation this week and asked me to fill in for him.  He and my mother are visiting the waterfalls of Krka National Park in Croatia this week.  First off, I want to apologize for the way my dad has been treating the commenters.  I will include a Home Run from LV and QC in this weeks edition to make up for his brash attitude.  Without further ado, lets take a look at the best Home Runs from week 19.

By The Numbers: It's Dongtastical

So many records, so little time. With just two weeks left, who's still on pace to write themselves into the record books, and who's fallen off just enough to fall short? Weymouth has already erased Rio de Janeiro once, with some help from rookie sensation Cody Bellinger (Aaron who?), will the Cristos have anything left when it's all said and done?

By The Numbers: It's Dongtastical
By: Max Powers; Baseball Tri-Weekly

RUNS

Current record set by Dublin Snake Chasers in 2016 - 870

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Las Vegas Doggs (809)
     2.) Weymouth Shaddupu (786)
     3.) Tijuana Hispanics (767)

The Doggs turned on the speed last week, separating themselves from the field in the Runs category. With just 64 runs to go, Las Vegas is poised to get themselves back into the record books.

Likelihood of record being broken: 83% chance

HOMERUNS

FORMER record set by Rio de Janeiro Cristos in 2016 - 268

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Weymouth Shaddupu (273)
     2.) Las Vegas Doggs (224)
     4.) Tokyo Omyoujis (222)

Dong goes the dynamite. The Poo have already clinches a spot in the record books with the most dongs ever in a single season. Averaging over 14 dongs per week, Shaddupu is on pace to finish the season with over 300.

Likelihood of record being broken: 100% chance

RBI

Current record set by Rio de Janeiro Cristos in 2016 - 845

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Weymouth Shaddupu (793)
     2.) Santo Domingo All-Star Factory (765)
     3.) Las vegas Doggs (745)

There's a chance Weymouth sets this record prior to the final week as well. They're just 53 RBI shy of knocking the Cristos off the board, which should be all but guaranteed at this point. Keeping with their season-long average, the Poo should end the season around 875.

Likelihood of record being broken: 99% chance

STOLEN BASES

Current record set by Winston-Salem Green Monsters in 2007 - 173

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Las Vegas Doggs (124)
     2.) Quebec City Piglets (110)
     3.) Santo Domingo All-Star Factory (108)

The top team this season (LV) will need 25 stolen bags per week for their final two weeks. It's simply not going to happen.

Likelihood of record being broken: 0% chance

BATTING AVERAGE

Current record set by Weymouth Shaddupu in 2006 - .302

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Weymouth Shaddupu (.288)
     2.) Tokyo Omyoujis (.278)
     3.) Tijuana Hispanics (.271)

Ok, so we mispoke last week. It's Possible to break this record.Weymouth will simply need to get 428 hits over the course of the next two week. Oh, did we forget to mention that will have to be done in 490 at bats? Ya, that's a .873 average over two weeks. Good luck with that.

Likelihood of record being broken: 0% chance

WINS

Current record set by Rio de Janeiro Cristos in 2012 - 142

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Quebec City Piglets (110)
     2.) Tijuana Hispanics (94)
     3.) Tokyo Omyoujis (85)

Ok, so maybe one of Rio's many season-long records is still safe. The Piglets would need to gather 33 wins over the course of two weeks to rewrite the record books here. That's would require a whole lot of luck they simply haven;t had as of late.

Likelihood of record being broken: 1% chance

SAVES

Current record set by Quebec City Piglets in 2011 - 143

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) San Juan Guerites (113)
     2.) Tijuana Hispanics (106)
     3.) Las Vegas Doggs (97)

San Juan is as likely to break the Saves record as Quebec City is to break the Wins record.

Likelihood of record being broken: 1% chance

STRIKEOUTS

Current record set by Quebec City Piglets in 2008 - 1830

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 18)
     1.) Quebec City Piglets (1610)
     2.) Weymouth Shaddupu (1352)
     3.) Rakeville Rockets (1351)

Quebec City could still knock themselves off the record book pages with some hefty numbers in the final two weeks. Some solid streaming and good outings from the rotation could possibly get them 110 K's each week, but it's not looking likely.

Likelihood of record being broken: 10% chance

ERA

Current record set by Dublin Snake Chasers in 2013 - 3.28

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Las Vegas Doggs (3.44)
     2.) Weymouth Shaddupu (3.71)
     3.) Dublin Snake Chasers (3.86)

The Doggs shaved 2 points off their ERA, but it simply won't be enough. They'll need to string together 33.1 IP on no run ball over the next two weeks. Not impossible, but...ok, ya, it's impossible.

Likelihood of record being broken: 0% chance

WHIP

Current record set by Dublin Snake Chasers in 2013 - 1.15

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Las Vegas Doggs (1.19)
     2.) Weymouth Shaddupu (1.20)
     3.) Dublin Snake Chasers (1.23)

Again, the Doggs shaved their WHIp down as they did ERA, but it simply is too little too late it seems. In order to cut it down under 1.15 they'll need to average no more than 5.5 BB+H in 17 IP per week to end the season. That's a 0.32 WHIP each week for those of you scoring at home.

Likelihood of record being broken: 1% chance

Highest Team Winning %

Current record set by Quebec City Piglets in 2003 - .734

Top 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
     1.) Tijuana Hispanics (.589)
     2.) Weymouth Shaddupu (.582)
     3.) Quebec City Piglets (.558)

Nothing has changed, still mathematically impossible. Better luck next year.

Likelihood of record being broken: 0% chance

Lowest Team Winning %

Current record set by Arlington Warriors in 2009 - .284

'Top' 3 teams in 2017 (through Week 19)
1.) San Fernando Valley Jets (.303)
     2.) Rakeville Rockets (.455)
     3.) Bridgewater Weasels (.471)

We mentioned last week that the jets could only "afford" to win 5 games over the final three weeks in order to break the record. They got 2 in Week 19 against the Doggs, so if Shaddupu and Rakeville can pick up the pace we'll have a new "worst team ever" crowned. A pink shirt and a crown in the same year, how nice.

Likelihood of record being broken: 25% chance
