EHCC 2015 Performance ⅓
It feels like we’ve just gotten going, but we’re already a
third of the way through the fantasy regular season.
The leader in top weekly score so far is Las Vegas with 107
points in week 1. The leader? for worst weekly score so far is Augusta with 26
points also in week 1.
The West Is A Mess
The entire western division is only separated by 6.5 games!
For comparison, the gap between 1 and 2 in the east is 9.5. The weirdest thing
might be that Tijuanna, the #6 team in the west has the highest points average
in the division (see below). The number’s below show a little more insight on the
mess in the West but this division is basically wide open. The big question is,
who’s going to make “the move”? The move that separates them from the pack. The
west can be had. Who’s going to take it?
Championship Hangover
After netting the #1 seed last season and steam rolling to a
championship. Quebec City’s start to 2015 has been disappointing. QC is
currently sitting outside of a playoff berth at 34-33-3. Monsieur Renaud is not
happy and might be ready to make a deal. QC’s trading block has been updated
multiple times in the past weeks with a plead for HR’s and RBI’s. So far this
season QC has only captured 4 out of 14 points in HR’s and RBI’s. So the GM’s
plead for help is warranted.
Also, starting a catcher might help…
Santo Domingo Pitching
Coming into the 2015 season general manager Manny Ramirez
felt confident that his pitching staff would be competitive. Yu Darvish, Matt Harvey,
Cliff Lee, Justin Verlander, Matt Cain and Ian Kennedy with Jarrod Parker
coming off the DL around June. Not so bad. Fast forward a few months and
Darvish is done for the year, Parker is done for another year, Lee is done for
his career, Verlander and Cain haven’t yet seen the field and even Kennedy
spent some time on the DL. That’s not to mention losing RP’s Ottavino and
Peralta due to injury. I know that everyone suffers injuries, but jeeeezzzz….
Also, f*ck you Jarrod Parker and your dumb elbow for 3
wasted years.
Where have all the second baseman gone?
The Dublin Snake Chasers have them! Kipnes, Pedroia, Betts,
Miller. Give the rest of us a chance Brad.
Best Of The Worst
Previously I had blurb here about how some roster’s weren’t
being updated for DL’d players; the drive for the #1 overall pick; and how it
was going to be hard for teams in the West to capture wildcard slots with
absentee owners in the East.
In the time between when I wrote my rough draft and now, said
teams have made strides to become more competitive. Kudos to you gentlemen for your
renewed interest. Fantasy leagues are the most enjoyable when all owners are
engaged.
Feeling unlucky?
Below is a summary of the PF and PA for the 2014 regular
season. The PF shows how well you’ve performed on average on the 12-120 scale. As
in my previous posts, the delta(∆) column is your PA minus 65 (65 being the
average). This number gives you an idea of how “lucky” you’ve been. You’ll see
that the most “lucky” teams so far in 2015 are Tokyo, Rio and Weymouth. While
the most “unlucky” teams have been Tijuana, Rakeville and Las Vegas.
As time moves on the ∆ will eventually regress towards 0. At
the end of last season the ∆ numbers were all within ± 3.5.
