EHCC 2013 Performance ⅔
The all-star break is over and two-thirds of the fantasy season is in the books. Let’s take a look at the numbers…
Just as a recap: The following data has been compiled by placing our weekly head-to-head roto data into a weekly straight roto format. IE, each point category has been ranked 1-12 (12 being the best) on a weekly basis. This is intended to present a clearer picture of your team's actual performance this season as it matches all teams against each other for each week rather than up against just one other team.
The top weekly scorer so far is still The Las Vegas Doggs who scored 100 points in week 3. The low weekly scorer was The Quebec City Piglets who scored 24 points in week 13.
Also, the below chart gives you your average total points scored so far in the season. If your weekly average rank is lower than your actual yahoo rank than you've been statistically lucky and vice-versa. Going forward regression towards the mean is likely. Meaning that the larger the sample size gets the more likely your 'total rank' and actual yahoo rank will be the same. Over the first third of the season we found that the most lucky team had been The Tijuana Hispanics (+3) and the least lucky team has been The Weymouth Shaddupu (-6). Now that we have two-thirds of the season in the book we see that no team is more than 2 spots plus/minus their rank.
I normally end these posts with a question about whether you’re a buyer or seller. I don’t need to ask that question this time around. The EHCC is top heavy this year which has caused Weymouth, Rakeville, Quebec City and Tokyo to have already declared themselves as sellers. Bridgewater hasn’t made any such announcement but currently finds himself 21.5 games out of a playoff spot. That would seemingly leave the 7 remaining teams for 6 playoffs spots. The real battle will be for the bye in the west with Dublin, Tijuana and Santo Domingo all within 4 games of each other.
