By The Numbers: Week 12

This was supposed to be the year of the hitter. Two extra spots in the line up. An extra keeper spot to hold on to the prized borderline player. Even seven of the thirteen first round picks in the 2016 MaDraft, including the top four, were positional players. So why is pitching still dominating the EHCC? Or is it? Let the stats decide. Yay, useless (but fun) stats!

• Through week 11, the top six teams (LV, DUB, SJ, WEY, QC, SD) have a combined .606 winning percentage in pitching categories, and just a .558 winning percentage in hitting categories
• Though the 11th week, there has been just 7 ties out of 66 match ups. 
• Of the 59 other match ups, the winning team has won all of either side (hitting vs pitching) a combined 26 times
• Of the same 59 match ups, the winning team has won just 1 of either side (hitting vs pitching) just 11 times
• No team has won their match up and not won at least one categories from each side
• There has been three 10-0 wins this season so far, the most at this point in the season ever
• The most 10-0 wins in a single season was in 2007 (6)
• Only 6 teams have recorded two 10-0 games in the same season ('01 Shaddupu, '03 Piglets, '06 Shaddupu, '07 Green Monsters, '07 Doggs, '16 Doggs).
• No team has ever recorded three 10-0 victories in the same season
• Las Vegas is on pace to score 846 runs and collect 813 RBI in 2016 (current records are 782 runs and 791 RBI)
• Rakeville is on pace to hit 262 home runs in 2016 (current record is 241) 
• No team is undefeated in any one statistical category in 2016
• Combined with the Augusta Albatross's final nine losses of 2015, the San Fernando Valley Jets currently sit on a 20 game losing streak - 6 away from tying the Tokyo Omyoujis' record from 2005-2007. 
• The team with the longest name in EHCC history was the Coretesticulastics, out of Hudson, MA. 
• The team with the current longest unbeaten steak is the Dublin Snake Chasers, with 6. Just 17 away from tying the record of 23 by Bridgewater (2007-2008)
• Las Vegas has sat in the #1 seed every week this season except one. The only team the best that was the 2011 Piglets, who never left the top seed all season.
